Job Title: Head of Talent Acquisition & Talent Development

Location: Madrid

Reports to: HR Director (Direct) | Senior Director, Talent Acquisition and Senior Director Learning and Development (Dotted Line)

Key Stakeholders: Senior Leadership Team, Operational Leaders, External Talent Partners


Role Overview

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the talent agenda within GXO Logistics, Iberia. As the Head of Talent Acquisition & Talent Development, you will lead the strategic direction for talent acquisition and talent development, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain top talent across all levels of the organization. This position offers an opportunity to shape the future workforce, enhance employer branding, and drive talent excellence to support business growth.


Key Responsibilities


Talent Strategy & Leadership

* Act as the head of function for both talent acquisition and talent development within the country, leading a team to deliver best-in-class talent solutions.
* Define, launch, and own the talent roadmap to position GXO as an employer of choice in the market.
* Serve as the key point of contact for all talent-related initiatives, providing expert guidance to senior leaders and HR teams.
* Collaborate closely with senior management to understand workforce planning needs and align talent strategies with business objectives.
* Develop and implement talent strategies that drive hiring excellence, leadership development, and internal mobility.


Talent Acquisition

* Oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience from sourcing to onboarding.
* Lead employer branding initiatives to enhance visibility and attract top talent within operational and corporate functions.
* Leverage data-driven insights to continuously refine and improve hiring strategies, reducing time to hire and increasing quality of hires.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external recruitment partners, universities, and professional networks.
* Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and best practices.

Talent Development

* Design and implement a talent development framework that fosters continuous learning, career growth, and leadership development.
* Identify high-potential employees and create succession planning strategies to build a strong internal talent pipeline.
* Introduce innovative training programs and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and engagement.
* Partner with business leaders to assess skills gaps and create targeted development interventions.
* Champion a culture of learning and growth, ensuring alignment with company values and business goals.


Process Optimization & Performance Measurement

* Continuously assess and enhance talent acquisition and development processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate/employee experience.
* Utilize recruitment and development metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, internal mobility rate, employee engagement) to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
* Drive the adoption of new technologies and digital tools to optimize talent processes.
* Act as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders to align talent initiatives with overall organizational objectives.


Key Deliverables

* Reduction in time-to-fill and improved talent pipelining.
* Enhanced employer brand positioning within the industry.
* Improved diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within hiring and development programs.
* Implementation of new recruitment and talent development strategies and technologies.
* Increased stakeholder satisfaction and hiring manager/candidate Net Promoter Scores (NPS).


Skills & Experience Required


Essential Qualifications & Experience:

* Proven leadership experience in talent acquisition and talent development, preferably within logistics, manufacturing, production, or similar industries.
* Strong strategic and operational expertise in workforce planning, recruitment, and employee training/development.
* Deep understanding of best-in-class recruitment, talent development, and retention strategies.
* Experience leveraging data analytics to drive decision-making and process improvement.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership levels.
* Proficiency in recruitment and learning management systems, as well as digital talent tools.
