Hospitality Talents, a recruitment agency specialized in hospitality profiles, is looking for hand’s on and experienced Director of Sales for it’s client in Ghent.
Our client, an international hospitality group, is preparing to open a new upscale hotel in Ghent. Featuring over 150 rooms, contemporary common spaces, and a dynamic event with large MICE facilities and dining offering.
As part of the pre-opening team, the Director of Sales will play a key role in shaping the hotel’s commercial strategy and positioning it successfully within the Belgian and international markets.
Your Mission
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy that drives revenue, market share, and brand visibility. Working closely with the General Manager and Revenue team, you’ll build strong relationships with key partners, identify new business opportunities, and establish a solid client base in both the corporate and leisure segments.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the overall sales and commercial plan for the hotel.
* Lead pre-opening sales activities and coordinate the transition into the operational phase.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, and leisure markets.
* Build strong local and national networks and represent the property at key industry events.
* Collaborate with the group’s central commercial and marketing teams to ensure brand alignment.
* Monitor market trends and competitive activity to adjust strategies accordingly.
* Support the General Manager in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
Requirements
* Proven experience in hotel sales and business development, ideally within an international or branded environment.
* Strong strategic and analytical mindset with a hands-on approach.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Goal-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a pre-opening context.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a strong asset.
