The unit focuses on young people with cancer, including children (0-15 years) and adolescents and young adults years).
You will carry out work and analyses in this unit, which is imbedded in the Cancer Centre.

AYA patients face different care needs compared to both children and older adults, and the impact of cancer diagnosis and treatment affects their physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. As a result, psychosocial support is crucial.
To address these challenges, the RIZIV/INAMI has established an agreement with six academic hospitals to provide high-quality, age-specific care and support for AYA cancer patients. The aim is to improve their quality of life during and after treatment.
The Master's thesis project will evaluate (through a prospective mixed-method study) the implementation of AYA care in Belgian hospitals.
The project is scheduled for the academic year and the duration of the internship will be +/- 9 months.
