Product Owner/Functional Implementation Belgium
Location: Nivelles, Belgium / Pommerloch, Luxembourg
Contract type: Full-time – Hybrid (3 days/week on-site)
Role Overview
This position combines two complementary dimensions within a single function. The primary focus (60–70%) is on Product Owner role for the Belgian market — developing Belgium-specific product features, contributing to the global roadmap, and ensuring delivery quality. The remaining time (30–40%) is dedicated to a functional implementation consultant role, working directly with Belgian clients on training, product configuration, and on-site support.
Part 1 — Product Owner Belgium
You are the voice of the Belgian market within the Product team. You carry the understanding of Belgium-specific regulatory, business, and client requirements, while actively contributing to the evolution of the standard product for France and international markets.
Roadmap & product strategy
• Define and maintain a roadmap of Belgian-specific features, in line with the overall product vision
• Prioritise developments based on client impact, local regulatory requirements, and available resources
• Collaborate with the other Product Owners to ensure cross-market alignment and synergies
• Identify product opportunities based on client feedback and Belgian regulatory changes
Functional specifications
• Gather and analyse Belgian client needs and translate them into clear, actionable functional requirements
• Write structured specifications that can be directly used by the development team
• Ensure functional consistency between Belgian-specific features and the standard product
• Use Jira for backlog management, development tracking, and user story documentation
Testing & validation before release
• Define test scenarios and validation plans for each new development
• Execute functional tests and ensure quality before any production deployment
• Validate that new features are relevant and fit for purpose in the Belgian business context
• Coordinate with technical teams to resolve any identified issues
Contribution to France / International product
• Support Product Owner teams on cross-cutting product evolutions
• Share Belgian market insights to enrich broader product thinking
• Participate in shared product rituals (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
Part 2 — Functional Implementation Consultant (30–40%)
Alongside your product role, you work directly with Belgian clients to support them in adopting and configuring the platform. This hands-on dimension continuously feeds your understanding of real market needs and strengthens client relationships.
Configuration & implementation
• Analyse client-specific configuration needs
• Configure the product according to client workflows and business requirements
• Manage standard implementations independently, with Project Manager support on complex projects
• Accompany Belgian clients through their migration to the new web platform
Training & adoption
• Organize and deliver training sessions for platform users and administrators
• Create and maintain training materials tailored to the Belgian context
• Support clients in onboarding and adopting new product features
Field insights feeding into Product
• Identify and document recurring client needs that can feed into the product backlog
• Distinguish configuration requests from genuine product evolution needs
• Contribute to Belgian client satisfaction and retention
Candidate Profile
Key skills
• Strong functional analysis skills and ability to write structured specifications
• Experience in defining and executing test plans
• Experience in backlog management and product roadmap
• Good understanding of SaaS environments and Agile development cycles
• Strong client orientation with ability to manage direct client interactions
• Structured, rigorous, and pragmatic approach
• Knowledge of Jira is a plus
Experience
• 5 to 10 years of experience in software / SaaS
• Proven experience in Business Analysis, Product Owner, or similar functional role
• Experience in direct client interaction (training, support, implementation)
• Experience in functional testing and pre-production validation
• Background in EHS, health, compliance, or a regulated environment is a plus
Languages
• French: professional level required
• Dutch: good comprehension and ability to communicate professionally
• English: desirable
Working Arrangements
• 3 days per week on-site required
• Based in Nivelles (Belgium) and/or Pommerloch (Luxembourg)
• Occasional travel to Belgian client sites (training sessions, key implementation phases)
• Reporting into the Product Owner team — frequent interaction with France teams and Belgian clients
• Project Manager support available on complex client project
