Finance Business Analyst (Accounting, Power Query, SQL) – Financial Services – Brussels
Rate: €700 - 800 per day
Duration: 12 months
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elicit and document business requirements for Finance.
* Analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement or automation.
* Ensure requirements are compliant with regulatory frameworks (e.g., EBA guidelines).
* Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT and data teams.
* Support testing and validation of solutions.
* Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
* Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and working groups.
* Ensure alignment with internal controls, audit standards, and compliance policies.
* Coordinate between business (Finance departments, Risk and Banking) and IT teams.
* Proactively gather and clarify requirements from various stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst in financial services.
* Strong knowledge of accounting flows (including accounting policies).
* Strong knowledge of prudential reporting regulation and processes.
* Experience in IT, including understanding of data architecture, data flows, interfaces, and integration systems.
* Skills in data management, mapping, and validation, as well as proficiency with business intelligence or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Query, SQL).
* Ability to collaborate with IT teams and translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
* Familiarity with data governance, financial risk, and compliance processes.
* Excellent documentation and analytical skills.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
* Experience working in cross-functional project environments.
* Stress resilient, flexible, assertive, organized and hands-on.
* Knowledge of project methodologies (Agile, Prince2, PMP) is a plus.
* Knowledge of Word, Excel, SQL.
* Fluent in English; other languages are a plus depending on team composition.
