What does the job entail?
As Finance Director, you are responsible for the financial operations of our organization. You report directly to the Head of Finance. You work together in an international team of 10 financial professionals and ensure clear figures, efficient processes, and strong internal and external connections.
You are responsible for:
Strategic
Developing and implementing the financial strategy in line with business objectives
Advising management and the board of directors on financial risks, investments, and growth opportunities.
Supporting mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
Translating business strategy into financial objectives and KPIs.
Financial management and reporting
Overseeing accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Ensuring the organization complies with legal and fiscal obligations.
Preparing and presenting periodic financial reports.
Ensuring healthy cash flow and liquidity management.
Operational and business support
Improving financial processes through digitization and automation.
Acting as a sparring partner for other departments (e.g., HR, IT, Operations).
Supporting decisions with business and financial analyses.
Contributing to cost control and efficiency improvements.
Preparing investment analyses and business cases.
Monitoring returns on projects and investments.
External relations and compliance
Maintaining contact with banks, investors, auditors, and the statutory auditor.
Profiel
You have a master's degree in finance, economics, or business administration.
You have at least 5 years of experience in a broad finance role, preferably within an international SME.
Supplemented with experience in people and change management.
You work analytically, structured, and result-oriented.
You are strong in communication, a real bridge-builder, and always diplomatic.
You speak fluent English; Dutch and other languages are a plus.
Experience with ERP systems (Odoo) and AI tools is a plus.
Willingness to travel internationally (10–20%).
