Job description: Our client is expanding the MES team by hiring a Data Steward specializing in Balancing Data. Positioned within the Market Monitoring and Data team, this role is pivotal in ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and compliance within both publication and reporting contexts.
What you'll do:
* Develop a deep understanding of the business processes governing balancing data, documenting workflows and dependencies.
* Define, implement, and oversee data quality monitoring rules to maintain accuracy and integrity.
* Conduct comprehensive root cause analysis to diagnose data quality challenges and drive resolution strategies.
* Propose and coordinate corrective actions and sustainable solutions to improve data quality structurally.
* Support the Data Owner in shaping data-driven products and services that enhance efficiency and insight.
* Lead the transition from IT-led to business-led data management, ensuring high-quality, timely, and reliable data delivery.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business & IT) to co-create and implement value-added data solutions.
What you bring:
* Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Data Steward or in a similar role.
* Strong passion for the energy sector, with either prior knowledge or a keen interest in understanding energy market dynamics.
* Analytical mindset, capable of breaking down complex problems into structured solutions.
* Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other analytical tools for data processing and quality checks.
* Ability to maintain a keen eye for detail while keeping a broad perspective on overall business objectives.
Language:
* Fluent in Dutch or French, with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
