The Account Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Operations Department, maintaining ongoing relationships with existing (key) clients, including occasional visits, and accepting inspection and related assignments. The role involves providing regular updates and ensuring the timely delivery of inspection reports by coordinating and managing the complete workflow.
Responsibilities
* Maintain ongoing relationships with existing (key) clients, including occasional visits;
* Accept inspection and related assignments as required and ensure the timely delivery of reports by coordinating workflows between Operations, Account Coordinators, Inspection staff, Laboratory, and Office Staff;
* Ensure location staff carry out activities in accordance with client instructions, AmSpec policies, and procedures;
* Intervene when issues occur with clients and facilitate business development and sales activities within established pricing and contract terms;
* Serve as the communication link between clients and Business Development/Sales, acting as the first point of contact for resolving client issues or disputes;
* Establish and maintain internal and external client relationships, including domestic and international clients;
* Communicate significant issues related to operations, health, safety, and environmental management;
* Coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Science or equivalent (obtained through education and/or experience);
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant Customer Service or Inspection experience;
* Knowledge of Petrochemical products, chemicals, or other liquid cargo;
* Current knowledge of local inspection requirements;
* Proven time management skills and attention to detail;
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a regional team;
* Understanding of the company's business and client base;
* Ability to manage employees and work collaboratively;
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
* Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages (Dutch, Spanish, Russian, Italian) being valuable;
* Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions safely and accurately;
* Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and planning software;
* Occasional travel may be required;
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety, integrity, and professional conduct policies.
