Associate Director Health Economics – Modeling Location: Raritan, NJ or Beerse, Belgium. Travel: Domestic and international as needed.
Job Overview The role is within the Market Access Center of Excellence team of the Global Commercial Strategy Organization at Johnson &Johnson, leading Health Economics modeling and supporting reimbursement submissions and other strategic analyses.
Responsibilities Lead the entire lifecycle of economic models (concept, programming, final reporting) including cost‑effectiveness, budget impact, and other model types.
Develop and validate in‑house models while managing quality assurance for external vendor work.
Conceptualize models, plan strategies, and identify and source appropriate data (clinical trials, QoL studies, cost analyses, literature reviews, indirect comparisons, retrospective database studies, prospective epidemiological studies).
Conduct post‑hoc analyses of clinical trial data to support model inputs, such as survival, utilities (e.g., EQ‑5D), and costs.
Create tools for local data adaptation and produce clear, user‑friendly documentation (technical reports, presentations).
Co‑lead brand and functional teams for the rollout and training of global models in countries.
Support preparation of reimbursement submissions, technical assessment documents, and related dossier sections.
Lead or prepare abstracts, conference presentations, and manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
Collaborate with diverse cross‑functional and cross‑regional teams to drive model development and dissemination.
Qualifications Post‑graduate qualification in a relevant field (Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, Economics/Commerce, Public Health, Health Administration or Operations Research).
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Health Economics or Outcomes Research, with at least 3 years in Health Economics modeling.
Advanced Excel and Visual Basic programming skills for modeling.
Advanced programming skills in R.
Strong quantitative skills and deep understanding of indirect treatment comparison methodology, statistical analysis of clinical trials and observational studies.
Knowledge of reimbursement requirements for key international markets and experience with submissions to managed care or national authorities.
Excellent written and oral communication with demonstrated collaboration and teamwork across international teams.
