We are looking for a Senior Process Equipment Engineer who is rigorous, proactive, and solution-oriented to join us as a freelance in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium.
About the Role
As a Senior Process Equipment Engineer, you will take ownership of the technical management of process equipment for large-scale CAPEX projects in the pharmaceutical industry. You’ll lead the transfer, integration, and validation of innovative equipment dedicated to gene therapy, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Who you’ll work with
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with users, suppliers, quality, EHS, automation, and engineering. You are the technical point of contact for all equipment topics, from design to commissioning.
What you’ll do
• Lead integration and validation of process equipment
• Oversee equipment transfer and installation between sites
• Ensure GMP, GEP, and HSE compliance
• Organize and perform FAT/SAT and technical documentation
• Train users and ensure efficient hand-over
• Propose innovative, pragmatic solutions to technical challenges
Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills
• Master’s or PhD in engineering or scientific field
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical CAPEX projects
• Technical expertise in bioprocess (USP/DSP, single use systems)
• Strong knowledge of cGxP, GEP, and automation tools
• Excellent communication in English (French is a plus)
• Leadership, autonomy, team spirit, and initiative
