Cloud Architect - Data Location: Brussels Job type: Contract Length: 12months initial A leading technology consultancy based in Brussels is looking for an experienced Application Cloud Architect to join its Data and AI practice. You will work on complex, high impact systems focused on data intensive and AI driven applications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an international environment. The role You will be responsible for designing and building robust server side architectures that power modern web applications. This includes developing scalable cloud native services, optimising performance and ensuring security by design across the full application lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and developing server side components and services using Python best practices
- Designing, building and maintaining RESTful APIs to support front end and integration needs
- Designing and optimising database schemas and queries for performance and scalability
- Ensuring database security and compliance with data protection standards
- Identifying performance bottlenecks and improving application efficiency
- Designing scalable cloud architectures using containerisation and orchestration technologies
- Performing code reviews and applying vulnerability scanning and secure coding practices Required expertise
- Strong proficiency in Python and hands on experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI
- Experience using code linters and formatters such as pylint, black or flake8
- Experience working with AI powered code assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Amazon Q
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
- Solid experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL and non relational databases such as Elasticsearch or MongoDB
- Excellent knowledge of ORM, schema design and efficient querying
- Strong experience with containerisation using Docker or Podman and orchestration with Kubernetes
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and secure coding practices including authentication, authorisation and encryption What’s on offer
