The Role: Your Impact
As our Expert Research Engineer AI, you won't just be training models; you’ll be architecting the future of medical diagnostics. You will collaborate with a world-class team to solve complex problems that have a lasting impact on global healthcare.
In this role, you will:
* Bridge the Gap: Translate deep-seated patient and partner problems into elegant, AI-driven solutions.
* Build the "First-of-a-Kind": Rapidly iterate on prototypes and first-of-their-kind PoCs in collaboration with clinical partners.
* Stay Ahead of the Curve: Be the go-to authority on academic trends, international standards (EU AI Act, anyone?), and the latest in medical visualization.
* Loudly Innovate: Share your insights at global conferences and interact with a network of internal and external peers.
Who You Are
You are a rare blend of academic depth and practical execution. You thrive in the "Grey Zone" of research where the answers aren't in the manual.
Your Toolkit:
* The Foundation: A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
* The Regulatory Edge: You speak the language of medical device development (MDD/MDR, SaMD, and regulatory pathways).
* The AI Craftsman: Proven experience in data collection protocols, cleaning, normalization, and training AI specifically for healthcare.
* Visionary Tech: Deep expertise in computer vision (segmentation, registration, data augmentation) and proficiency in Python with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
* Medical Domain Intel: Basic knowledge of digital pathology, radiology, or surgical imaging.
* The Environment: You are a Linux power user.
Bonus Points (The "Cherry on Top"):
* 2+ years in MLOps or image processing.
* Mastery of the NVIDIA ecosystem and Federated Learning (NVFlare).
* A track record of scientific publications or funded research projects.
* A "Full-Stack" mindset for AI—from cloud to on-premise deployment.
* Bilingual: Fluent English is a must; Dutch is a great plus.
