You will lead and oversee the full accounting operations across four legal entities. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a team of nine and ensure the financial processes are compliant, efficient, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.You will be based in Brussels or/and Ghent.JobomschrijvingStrategic & Operational Leadership- Translate departmental goals into actionable team objectives.- Develop the annual accounting plan and budget; monitor progress and KPIs.- Stay updated on financial and accounting regulations; ensure timely implementation.- Lead or support the roll-out of new systems and process improvements.Accounting Oversight- Oversee general accounting for all the legal entities.- Ensure accuracy and legal compliance in all accounting, tax, and payroll processes.- Lead quarterly and year-end closings; prepare audit files andliaise with external auditors.- Evaluate and improve accounting procedures; maintain documentation.- Collaborate with international partners and internal stakeholders on accounting matters.Team Management (People Leadership - 70% of the role)- Manage and coordinate two teams across Brussels and Ghent.- Allocate tasks and plan workloads based on team skills and organizational needs.- Facilitate team meetings and foster team cohesion across locations.- Serve as the main point of contact for internal collaboration and communication.- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for team members.- Promote a constructive, respectful, and inclusive working environment.Jouw profiel- Master's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, or business.- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in accounting management, preferably in complex environments.- Proven people management experience, including leading cross-site teams.- Solid knowledge of Belgian GAAP and general accounting principles.- Strong problem-solving skills; able to work in fast-paced, mission-driven settings.- Fluent in Dutch and French (both mandatory for the position); English is a plus.- Experience in the NGO, non-profit, or public sector is highly valued.- Aligned with the organization's core values of equity, solidarity, and sustainability.- Open to candidates with diverse backgrounds and leadership styles - inclusive mindset is essential.Voordelen van de betrekking- A full-time, permanent contract (38 hours/week)- A salary aligned with the NGO salary scale, based on seniority (no company car)- 13th-month salary.- Meal vouchers.- Group insurance (pension & life).- Reimbursement of public transportation.- 50% remote work policy -> €25/month homeworking allowance.- 25 vacation days (20 legal + 5 additional).- Regular training opportunities and access to a global professional network.- A collaborative, people-centered work environment focused on work-life balance.- A socially responsible employer with a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace.
