Drever International S.A. is an engineering company, market leader in the design and construction of industrial furnaces used in the steel industry.
Our company is active globally and supplies a central part of the plant: the furnace, galvanizing furnace, annealing furnace, stainless steel furnace and more recently electric steel furnace.
Since 2006, we are part of SMS group GmbH.

The Senior Technical Sales Manager serves as the primary representative and point of contact for all sales-related aspects of assigned projects, both internally and externally. This role is responsible for coordinating and leading the bid process, ensuring the development of technically sound, commercially competitive, and strategically aligned proposals.

By collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams, the Senior Technical Sales Manager ensures that customer requirements are fully understood and reflected in the offer. The ultimate goal is to successfully negotiate and secure contracts that are not only aligned with customer expectations but also deliver clear value and profitability to SMS group.

Status of the function :

1. Provides leadership and oversight to all team members assigned to their sales project, ensuring effective coordination and performance throughout the bid and negotiation phases
2. Reports directly to the Sales Director

YOU ACT

3. Representing the SMS group with the customer;
4. Preparation of the basic concept study, basic layout, technical specifications;
5. Budget calculation, validation of material and study cost estimates and risk meetings;
6. Price calculation in agreement with the Sales Director;
7. Presentation and technical defense of the project to the customer;
8. Analysis and clarification of customer documents and specifications;
9. Forwarding information and sending documents and specifications to colleagues and any partner companies involved in the project;
10. Holding regular project discussions / negotiations with customers and consortium members and documenting meeting outcomes;
11. Actively supporting the project by applying the Quality Gates Method with the Project Manager Sales;
12. Compliance with requirements of the overall sales project;
13. Holds the right to allocate the project budget (Bid Budget) as approved up to the next stage;

YOU KNOW

Minimum education required: Master's degree (Industrial or Civil Engineer) with eight years of experience in Technical Sales for complex plant manufacturer companies.

Minimum knowledge, skills, experience and abilities required:

14. Proven track record of closing high-value technical sales
15. Solid knowledge of Industrial furnace and heat treatment technologies
16. Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and the physico-chemical behavior of gases;
17. Able to anticipate, structure, organize and work in a team;
18. Ability to analyze things from a globally perspective (helicopter view);
19. Able to set and manage priorities and are resistant to stress;
20. Customer oriented; you are autonomous;
21. Commercial skills aiming to identify competitive solutions,
22. Perfect command of English and French (spoken and written);
23. Excellent command of MS Office and the ability to learn other software developed or used by Drever
24. Familiarity with drawing tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, etc.) is not required but considered an asset.
