Manager, risk data strategy

Job Summary Its techno-functional data programming role in the area of Risk&CFCC Data Store, Analysis & AI-backed product delivery. Job scope includes design, development & maintenance of Compliance and Financial Crime Data Store & Reporting as well as Providing AI backed solutions. Functions include both new development as well as BAU support for legacy data products. Responsibilities include accurate & thorough documentation of data products.

Key Responsibilities

Liaise with Risk Framework Owners & Reporting team in defining data solutions

Work closely with Technology Developers from CIO team to implement strategic data solutions

Python, SQL programming & debugging to support data solution development

Presto SQL view development to support data delivery & data visualization

Data programming using Jupyter Notebook, Excel Power Query & Tableau dashboards development

Data mapping & reference data identification, analysis & management

Data investigations & reconciliation to support reporting needs & legacy BAU activities

Solution documentation, Data dictionary preparation & assistance in Data Quality Management

Strategy

Define the data sourcing guidelines, target data definitions & data architecture for Risk&CFCC Data Store platform

Enable creation of best practices, data delivery frameworks & data modelling guidelines for Credit Risk

Support the strategic & ad hoc data requirements of Risk&CFCC

Business

Support best practices, solution frameworks & techniques to create a next-generation data solutions delivery organization

Liaise with the stakeholders to support data requirements & delivery

Work on data requirements & identification of golden sources for data attributes

Work on data delivery roadmaps in liaison with the CIO Teams & manage end-to-end data delivery

Processes

Liaise with the wider data community & the CDO Office in establishing best practices, solution patterns & nimble data solutions

Perform horizon scanning on upcoming trends in data management practices, data science technologies & incorporate into ways of working

People & Talent

Provide support in attracting & retaining data management talent in the Function

Risk Management

Embed compliance with data management risks, including data quality, secrecy, privacy, records management and AI ethics in the design of data solutions

Ensure compliance with the risk management practices applicable for the role

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Effectively and collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Qualifications

Graduate / Post-graduate in Computer Science, Finance or similar Quantitative Discipline

6+ Years of relevant experience in similar role & specifically in Risk

Proficient in SQL & Python Data Programming, Jupyter Notebook skills

Strong Stakeholder management & communication skills

Able to make good working relationships with people at all levels, to work in a team environment.

Able to work under time pressure & adapt to changing requirements.

Overall work experience of at least 6 years.

Skills and Experience

Experience in Risk

Prior experience of SQL & Python Programming

Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques

Generative AI

Business Analysis & Effective Communication skills
