You will be part of Freshfields’ wider Global Transactions team. You will work closely with the MA team and the the banking finance team on Belgian and cross-border matters. /p pMatters you will be involved in include: /p ul liAdvising a broad range of clients on financial regulatory matters, including fund regulation (AIFMD), DORA, MiFID II, banking, payments and insurance regulation; /li liRepresenting clients before the Belgian financial regulators; /li liAdvising on MA and other transactions in the financial services sector, including qualifying holding procedures; /li liProviding advice to funds and financial institutions on ESG matters. /li /ul pFurthermore, you will: /p ul liBe in the lead for the matters described above, of course working in a collegiate environment for and with a range of partners, counsels and (principal) associates within Brussels and from various other offices; /li liDevelop and help drive relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client’s businesses, economic drivers, markets and sector in order to ensure advice is relevant and commercial; /li liWork as part of a team and a growing practice and taking an active part in sharing knowledge and experience with the team; /li liTake responsibility for coaching and mentoring junior team members, fostering their development; /li liEngage in business development activities and speaking opportunities. /li liYou obtained a Belgian Master in Law with strong academic results; /li liYou have as from 5 years of experience in Financial Regulatory, preferably both on the advisory and MA side; /li liYou demonstrate technical skills in your legal work, with an international awareness and focus to your work; /li liYou can build trust and rapport to develop effective relationships, internally and externally; /li liYou are service orientated and have a “client first” mindset; /li liYou have an excellent command of English and French or Dutch (written and spoken) with a good command of the second national language; /li liYou are a team player, you have an entrepreneurial spirit and good communication skills; /li liYou respect and enjoy the diversity of cultural, social and academic backgrounds found in the firm. /li /ul h3Our Client /h3 pFreshfields is a global law firm with a long-standing track record of successfully supporting the world’s leading national and multinational corporations, financial institutions, and governments on ground-breaking and business critical mandates. /p pAt Freshfields they seek to create a better future for their clients, their people and the communities in which they live and work.
