About the Job

ITS Group Benelux is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to work within the Aviation Network Operations domain, covering both air and ground logistics flows. The role involves eliciting, analyzing, and formalizing complex business requirements, and translating them into IT solutions aligned with operational and regulatory constraints of the aviation industry. The consultant will operate in a demanding environment, interacting with business, technical teams, and external partners, with a strong focus on quality, documentation, and delivery.
Responsibilities
* Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements
* Translate business needs into functional requirements for IT teams
* Analyze existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities
* Contribute to solution design (functional architecture, workflows, interfaces)
* Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
* Facilitate communication between stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors
* Support project delivery (scope, timeline, budget)
* Monitor industry standards, regulations, and innovations in aviation
Activities
* Produce deliverables: BRD, FRD, use cases, functional documentation
* Model business processes and data
* Define business rules and service specifications
* Lead workshops with stakeholders
* Support technical teams during development phases
* Review and validate proposed solutions
* Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
* Work within Agile and/or Waterfall environments
* Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes
Technical & Methodological
* Strong knowledge of structured analysis techniques (SA/SD, Information Engineering or equivalent)
* Expertise in modeling (processes, data, business rules, use cases)
* Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD – strategic design)
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
* Familiarity with aviation standards (e.g., ARINC)
* Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
* Good understanding of the SDLC and related tools
Domain Expertise
* Strong understanding of aviation operations and logistics (air & ground)
* Experience with aviation IT systems (flight operations, maintenance, crew scheduling, cargo systems, etc.)
Soft Skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication skills (business & technical)
* Attention to detail and high-quality documentation skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education & Languages
* Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
* Fluent English (written and spoken), Dutch is a plus

* Certification such as CBAP
