The Department of Product Development in the Faculty of Design Sciences in collaboration with the research center imec is looking for a full-time (%) doctoral scholarship holder in the field of design for modular electronic architectures.
Position
1. You will work actively on the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis modular electronic architectures. This PhD research investigates modular electronic architectures, with a focus on chiplet-based system design to improve scalability, reuse, and sustainability. The work explores how modular hardware platforms can support adaptable applications such as modular environmental sensing, enabling long-lived, upgradeable, and circular electronic systems for diverse monitoring contexts.
2. You will publish scientific articles related to the research project.
3. You will carry out a limited number of teaching and research support tasks for technology driven design in product development.
Profile
4. You hold a Master degree in Electronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Development.
5. Your teaching competences are in line with the University of Antwerp’s .

8. Strong interest in digital electronics (PCB, IC), system architecture, and/or semiconductor technologies in the context of smart products.

9. We offer a doctoral scholarship for an initial period of one year. Following a positive evaluation, the scholarship can be renewed for another three years.
10. The planned start date is 1/03/ or as soon as possible after that date.
