Job Purpose:
The incumbent will work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Merchandising Teams, and will be responsible for all commercial and marketing activities for assigned brands, ensuring optimum Sales, Brand Equity, Distribution, Visibility, Price, Placement, and Promotion, while enhancing the Company's image as a preferred supplier in the industry. The incumbent's time will be split between forecasting, inventory management, marketing, and logistics management.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Formulates and implements annual marketing plans for assigned brands.
* Manages the annual A&P budgets in collaboration with suppliers and Commercial Manager, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and tracked.
* Determines the Return on Investment (ROI) for all promotional activities with the use of sales data and promotional reports.
* Develops purchasing forecasts and orders for assigned brands monthly (inventory control).
* Works closely with the Supply Chain Planner to ensure timely and accurate execution of orders for assigned brands.
* Ensure costings of goods are done on a timely basis and verifies the costings and price levels are accurate and competitive.
* Collaborates with the Sales Team to achieve and monitor monthly sales and gross profit targets in keeping with departmental objectives, implementing measures to address shortfalls.
* Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
* Continuously look for growth opportunities through line extensions and new brands to introduce to portfolio.
* Builds and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers ensuring that all requested reports are submitted in a timely manner and according to specifications.
* Trains Sales and Trade Marketing teams on all existing and new brands and provides continuous guidance and assistance as required.
* Conducts Trade Audits to ensure optimum Quality, Distribution, Visibility, Price, Placement and Promotions of the assigned brands.
* Monitors and reports on competitive activity in the trade including appropriate tactical initiatives to counteract such activity.
* Ensures Displays and POS material are positioned in key areas with trade partners.
* Monitors SLOBS at Distribution Centre monthly and implements measures to reduce stock levels.
* Executes Trade Promotions with retailers and attends the Promotions as required
* Supports the development of Export markets within brands assigned.
* Participates in periodic stock taking exercise at Distribution Centre.
Knowledge and Experience:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related discipline
* A minimum of two (2) years similar experience in an FMCG company
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
