As part of national and international railway projects, we are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to participate in the full development cycle of embedded software for traction converters.
You will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating Command-Control software in compliance with EN 50128 standards, working closely with the Traction Control and Validation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop application software for traction and auxiliary converters.
- Draft software requirements based on functional requirement specifications (FRS).
- Perform integration, simulation, and testing of embedded software.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and EN 50128 processes.
- Participate in design reviews and software certification audits.
- Provide support to validation, commissioning, and traction/auxiliary control teams.
- Apply Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
- Coordinate software development activities and manage technical interfaces with subcontractors, if required.
- Monitor and ensure project delivery according to Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives.
- Manage software configuration and change requests throughout the development cycle.
If responsible for workload management:
- Lead a software team (from 1 to 5 people depending on the project).
- Organize and monitor development activities according to project planning.
- Report to the Traction Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) and Software Team Leader.
- Manage subcontractor activities according to company processes and legal requirements.
Profile / Requirements :
Engineering degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Computing, Embedded Systems, or Automation.
Minimum 2 years of experience in real-time software development.
Strong knowledge of embedded systems and Integrated Development Environments using CEI 61131 languages (C++, ControlBuild, Matlab/Simulink).
Basic knowledge of configuration management and requirement traceability principles.
Good understanding of control systems and power electronics.
Knowledge of electronics boards (architecture and basic software) would be a plus.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Personal skills: autonomous, analytical mindset, team player, strong communication skills.
Working Environment
You will work closely with traction engineering teams (Control, Validation, RAMS).
You will interface with manufacturing sites and occasionally with final railway operators.
