Integration Engineer
with strong analytical capabilities and proven expertise in
IBM webMethods. This role combines
technical integration development
with
business & system analysis, ensuring robust, scalable, and well-documented integration solutions across our enterprise ecosystem.
You will play a key role in designing integrations, clarifying requirements, analyzing system impacts, and translating business needs into functional and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analysis & Requirements Engineering
Conduct end-to-end integration and system analysis for new and existing interfaces.
Gather, identify, and refine business/user requirements through workshops and stakeholder discussions.
Create detailed functional specifications, technical specifications, and integration design documents.
Analyze dependencies, system impacts, and integration constraints.
Translate complex business requirements into clear technical solutions.
Build and maintain:
Process flows using BPMN
Data models, message structures, and mapping rules
2. Integration Development & Design
Develop and maintain integrations using
IBM webMethods
(Trading Networks, Universal Messaging, API Gateway).
Build APIs, orchestrations, adapters, mappings, and reusable services.
Design integrations aligned with best practices for performance, resilience, security, and maintainability.
Support integration testing: system tests, E2E tests, and defect analysis.
3. Operational Support
Provide L2/L3 support for incidents and service requests.
Perform root cause analysis and define structural, permanent fixes.
Monitor integration flows, performance, and platform health.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date integration documentation.
Contribute to integration standards, frameworks, reusable templates, and design patterns.
Identify improvement opportunities in processes, tooling, and platform usage.
You work in Halle and can work from home up to two days a week, or work from one of our regional offices (Mechelen, Haasrode, Zwijnaarde, …).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
You can communicate fluently in English. Strong knowledge in Dutch is a plus.
Hands-on experience with
IBM webMethods, including:
Trading Networks
Universal Messaging
API Gateway
Proven experience in business & system analysis, including:
Requirements gathering and validation
Writing functional and technical specifications
Context, scope, and process diagrams
Strong understanding of REST/SOAP, XML/XSD, JSON, messaging patterns, and integration protocols.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
Experience with ITIL processes and operational models.
Experience with tools like Dynatrace, Kibana, ServiceNow.
Experience with API Gateway.
