Project Based Health and Safety Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced project-based Health & Safety Manager to work on a large scale Data Centre project located in Mons, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate all EHS matters and report issues to the Project Managers
* Review of Sub-Contractor project safety documentation
* Review and approve risk assessments and method statements for all works, and develop and implement appropriate controls
* Chair project EHS meetings
* Client liaison with all EHS matters
* Accident Management - work with project management to ensure a process is established which includes incident investigation, identification and implementation of all corrective actions and effective preventative programs
* Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all employees or contractors
* Ensure that safety audits are carried out throughout the site in conjunction with the management team
* Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect the industry
* Manage the Toolbox Schedule for the project including attendance records
* Attend and provide input at site meetings reporting on EHS risks, trends and recommendations
* Work closely with staff to ensure all employees receive a good standard of safety training relevant to their position in the company
* Give advice to site management on training requirements for each project
* Ensure EHS management systems for projects are implemented
Requirements
* Must hold a relevant Health and Safety qualification
* Minimum of 5-years' Health and Safety Data Centre experience
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence safety
* Knowledge and experience with construction regulations and roles
* Must be a team player
* Experience managing a team of EHS Advisors
* Experience with a client facing role
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Package
