In case of exceptions, ROC resolves issues and keeps stakeholders informed. ROC also monitors trends in network exceptions to automate processes or propose changes to streamline operations, involving network monitoring and analysis of data.

Overview of a Transportation Specialist
A Transportation Specialist at ROC facilitates the flow of information between stakeholders such as carriers, hubs, and warehouses, and resolves any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The role works across both inbound and outbound operations.
Inbound Operations
Handles vendor/carrier/FC relationships, ensuring freight is picked up on time and delivered to the FC as scheduled. The specialist addresses any issues that arise during pick‑up to delivery.
Outbound Operations
Handles FC/carrier/transfer hub relationships, ensuring trucks leave the FC on time to deliver customer orders as promised. The specialist addresses any issues that arise during the freight’s journey from the FC to customer premises.
Key Responsibilities
* Communicate with external customers (carriers, vendors/suppliers) and internal customers (retail, finance, software support, fulfillment centers).
* Provide real‑time customer experience in a 24/7 operating environment.
* Escalate problems or data variances to relevant owners and teams, following through on resolution.
* Develop and understand performance metrics to drive business results.
* Communicate findings, both verbally and in writing, including narratives and presentation of weekly findings.
* Manage time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring activities performed.
* Analyze business impact of trends and make data‑based decisions.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
* Experience with Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with SQL.
* Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
