Batopin is building an independent ATM network offering high-quality cash services to individuals and merchants across Belgium. The company has set the ambition to become the leading player on the Belgian market in the coming years.
To support its expanding activities, Batopin is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join the team.
Function
The compliance officer mitigates legal and regulatory risks by implementing effective compliance programs, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing compliance with relevant requirements, providing guidance to ensure the institution operates in a compliant manner and reporting on the compliance posture towards management team and board of directors. You will also act as the data protection officer.
What will you doRegulatory complianceTo prepare, outline, discuss, elaborate, follow up and adjust the various areas within compliancy with regards to the realisation of the corporate strategy.Staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines governing BatopinAssessing the impact of regulatory changes, interpret requirementsAdvising management and relevant stakeholders on necessary actions to ensure compliancePreparing and submitting necessary compliance reports to regulatory authorities as required by lawDeveloping and maintaining a comprehensive compliance programCreating policies, procedures, and controls to address regulatory requirements, prevent money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimesPrimary point of contact for inquiries, requests for information, and examinations from regulatory bodies for compliance related mattersEstablishing and maintaining positive working relationships with relevant regulatory agenciesMonitoring complianceLead and coordinate compliance projects within the organisation.Conducting regular risk assessments to identify compliance risks and vulnerabilities within BatopinEvaluating controls and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential regulatory violations and financial liabilitiesConducting regular monitoring to assess the institution's compliance with regulations, policies, and proceduresReviewing processes, transactions, and records to identify gaps, potential risks, or violationsOverseeing internal and external compliance audits and collaborating with auditors to ensure timely resolution of any identified issues.Documentation and awarenessFoster a culture of complianceDeveloping and delivering training programs to educate employees on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsRaising awareness of potential risks and promoting ethical behaviour within the organizationMaintaining accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, monitoring, and corrective actions takenEnsuring that documentation is easily accessible for audits and regulatory examinationsPresent clear status and steering on compliance posture towards management team and board of directors
Profile
have a Master's degree (Law, Economics, Finance)have at least 7 years relevant experiencein-depth knowledge of relevant financial services regulations and payment industry guidelines (e.g., PSD2, GDPR, AML/CFT regulations).strong understanding of compliance frameworks and best practices.experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and controls.familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and risk management practices.fluent in Dutch and French with a good knowledge of English. xjsrcvqthis position is subject to a suitability assessment by the National Bank of Belgium (Fit and Proper).
