Context
Degroof Petercam Asset Management (DPAM) is an independent active asset management firm and manages investment funds as well as discretionary mandates on behalf of institutional clients, for a total amount of € 39.2 Bn, as of December 2019. DPAM is a sustainable investor, pioneer and innovative in responsible and sustainable investing. The firm integrates ESG across asset classes and themes and it is also an active owner. DPAM has a strong focus on research with a proprietary in-house fundamental and quantitative analyst team, supporting the firm's asset management activities.
DPAM is looking for a Head of Compliance. You will report hierarchically to the CEO (Belgium and International) and in a functional way to (I) the Head of Compliance BDP and to (II) the Global Head of Asset Management Compliance.
As Head of Compliance your will lead the development of compliance strategies.
You will develop compliance policy and lead the assessment, monitoring and reporting of compliance risks, investigating incidents and taking appropriate action to support company management.
Your position
The Head Of Compliance Will
* be in charge of guaranteeing the conformity of the company and its employees to the internal requirements defined by the Board of Directors, the Management Board and the Regulator. You are taking the lead in contacts with FSMA, local regulators and ESA's with regard to compliance topics;
* act independently in your compliance tasks and you have a direct reporting line to the Chief Executive Officer and a functional reporting line to the Degroof Petercam Group Chief Compliance Officer and to the Global Head of Asset Management Compliance ;
* will cover the usualcore compliance areas which are present in an institutional asset management company ;
* work in partnership with risk and compliance specialists across the region and globally to share best practice, provide support and develop effective compliance policies and methodology appropriate to the company and subsidiaries.
* will advise and participate in all strategic projects. You will team up with a senior Compliance Officer and you will be in charge of drafting and implementing, compliance risk cartography, annual compliance action plan and monitoring program.
Your profile
* Master's degree in law
* Minimum 10 years experience in an asset management compliance related function in an institutional and international environment.
* being FSMA certified compliance officer is a plus or must be obtained within 6 months.
* Management of Compliance & Reputational Risks frameworks and leading on good governance within global environments. Experience in relevant topics for compliance
* Proven experience in maintaining of good relationship with regulators and experience of leading at a senior level.
* Comprehensive knowledge development of written procedures and policies
* Demonstrate strong management of regulatory risks, processes and controls
* Excellent communication skills, oral as well as written,
* Be able to show diplomacy and be assertive when necessary. Ability to work independently, take initiative and decisions
* Fluent in English, Dutch and French.
