How can you make the difference
As Teamlead Mechanical Design, you lead and inspire a team of mechanical engineers to develop top-notch designs for our advanced sputtering equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* You coach and support your team members, helping them grow in their roles while aligning individual strengths with project goals. You foster a culture of ownership, open communication, and continuous improvement, making sure the team remains motivated, focused, and connected to Soleras' mission.
* You define and enforce design rules and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects. You implement structured review and approval processes and promote design approaches that are modular, scalable, and technically robust.
* You oversee the planning and execution of multiple design projects—balancing timelines, budgets, and available resources. You monitor progress, anticipate challenges, and make timely adjustments to keep projects on track from start to finish.
* You integrate ‘design for manufacturing’ principles into every step of the design process. Working closely with production teams, you ensure that designs are practical to build, easy to assemble, and meet all quality standards.
Preferred qualifications
* You hold a Master’s degree in (Electro)Mechanical Engineering or equivalent by experience.
* You have experience as a mechanical design engineer in a machine-building company.
* You have strong communication skills and experience in managing and mentoring a team.
* You take initiative and think ahead.
* You are fluent in English and Dutch.
* You are open to occasional travel (10-15%).
