Area Manager

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to lead strategic IT initiatives and drive the development of smart, user-centric solutions. This role combines the leadership responsibilities of application development with the business-facing focus of product ownership—perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and collaboration.
In this role, you’ll report to the Application Development Manager and serve as a key link between business stakeholders and manage an area of Product Owners. Beyond area delivery, you’ll act as a trusted partner to our internal clients, bringing strong commercial acumen to understand their needs, anticipate opportunities, and ensure IT solutions create scalable tangible business value. You'll have a key role in rolling out a change movement of IT as a laboratory, connecting people across the organization, and driving adoption. You’ll oversee complex IT programs, guide cross-functional teams, establish a clear data strategy across our different apps, and ensure that our digital tools not only align with MSC’s strategic goals but also deliver measurable benefits to our business units.
Your Responsibilities:
• Program Leadership: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT programs using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Business Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories.
• Solution Architecture: Design scalable, efficient systems that meet business needs and support long-term growth.
• Product Ownership: Prioritize the product backlog, define acceptance criteria, and make informed decisions on features and functionality.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between business units and development teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in validation to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and team performance across the program lifecycle.
• Data management: work transversal and cross-functional making sure there’s a good data backbone.
Qualifications:
1. Certifications: PMP, Agile, or Scrum certifications are a strong asset.
2. Experience: Demonstrated success in IT program management, team leadership, and product ownership or functional analysis.
3. Technical Proficiency: a basic understanding of software development and data processes, tools, and methodologies.
4. Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable solutions.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Organizational Agility: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
