About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Head of IT with deep expertise in Odoo and Shopify to take ownership of our core business systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll optimize, improve, and scale our Odoo ERP environment and Shopify webshop to support our rapid growth. You'll bridge technology operations with business needs, ensuring our systems are robust, efficient, and set up for international expansion. This is not a pure developer role, but it's also not a high-level strategy-only position. You need to be comfortable getting technical when needed while thinking strategically about how systems support growth.
Responsibilities
* Own and continuously improve our Odoo ERP system — from configuration and module optimization to integration work and performance tuning
* Manage and optimize our Shopify webshop — handle platform improvements, custom app integrations, and ensure smooth e-commerce operations
* Oversee integrations between systems (e-commerce, logistics, internal tools, and third-party apps)
* Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in our current tech stack and implement solutions
* Support international expansion by ensuring our systems can scale across multiple markets and currencies
* Act as a technical advisor to the founders on how system improvements drive business growth
* Manage vendors and technical partners where needed
* Document systems and create knowledge transfer materials for the team
Qualifications
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with Odoo ERP (implementation, customization, optimization, or system administration)
* 1+ years of experience with Shopify (store management, app integration, or platform optimization)
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
* Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-growing scale-up environment
* Strong English communication (written and spoken)
* Based in or willing to relocate to Belgium (or strong timezone alignment for hybrid work)
Required Skills
* Deep expertise in Odoo (modules, customization, integrations, best practices)
* Proficiency with Shopify platform and app ecosystem
* Experience with system integrations (APIs, middleware, data synchronization)
* Problem-solving mindset with ability to research and implement solutions independently
* Project management skills for managing technical improvements and implementations
* Comfortable with change management in a growing organization
Preferred Skills
* Experience with other ERP systems (comparison perspective is valuable)
* Knowledge of e-commerce best practices and conversion optimization
* Experience with international/multi-currency e-commerce systems
* Some exposure to AI tools and automation (relevant to our strategy)
* Experience with data migration and system transitions
