Our client is a globally active, family-owned specialist exclusively focused on trade credit insurance and trade finance, operating within a highly niche and expertise-driven segment of financial services.
The Benelux set-up is deliberately entrepreneurial and non-corporate. There is no heavy local structure, no predefined commercial playbook and no close day-to-day supervision. This role therefore requires someone who acts proactively, creates momentum independently and treats the business as their own responsibility.
You will be supported by a solid international platform, but locally, you are expected to lead from the front—by initiative, credibility and sustained commercial effort.
As Client & Growth Lead, you will be responsible for expanding and sustaining a high-quality client portfolio in the Benelux, with a strong focus on Flanders & the Netherlands.
The role blends business development, technical advisory and long-term account ownership.
- Proactively build and expand a B2B client portfolio (mid-market to large corporates)
- Identify opportunities before they are formally defined: markets, sectors, decision-makers and partnerships.
- Actively prospect and open doors—this is not a role where leads are handed over or momentum is created for you.
- Build visibility through relevant networks and targeted initiatives, without relying on brand or structure alone.
- Advise senior stakeholders (CFO, Treasury, Credit Management) on credit risk mitigation and working capital optimisation.
- Structure and place solutions across Trade Credit Insurance and Trade Finance
- Translate operational and commercial realities into solutions that are both bankable and sustainable.
- Lead end-to-end client trajectories: analysis, proposal, insurer/financier engagement, negotiation, placement and follow-up.
- Maintain strong working relationships with insurers, underwriters and trade finance providers across the Benelux and Europe.
- Coordinate RFP-style processes with clarity and discipline, without unnecessary complexity.
- Ensure disciplined follow-up—commercial success here is built on consistency and persistence, not short-term wins.
- Build relationships with a long-term horizon: proactive reviews, renewals, capacity steering and solution evolution.
- Act as a stable reference point for clients, especially in complex or sensitive situations.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a context with minimal hierarchy.

PROFILE
- Proven experience in Trade Credit Insurance, Trade Finance, Receivables Finance, Credit Risk or a closely related advisory/brokerage environment.
- Strong understanding of of: receivables and working capital dynamics, debtor and country risk, underwriting logic of insurers and trade finance providers
- Comfortable engaging at C-level / senior management level.
- Entrepreneurial and resilient: able to push through long sales cycles and ambiguity.
- Commercially sharp, without being transactional.
- Relationship-oriented: focused on trust, continuity and follow-up.?- Self-sufficient: thrives in a context with freedom rather than structure.
- Leadership without hierarchy: ownership and maturity over title or headcount.
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch (core client base). Strong command of English; French is an asset in an international context.
