Hauptaufgaben
You will:
•Serve as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) and performs technical computer systems administration and customer support tasks within a US Army Garrison directorate.
•Administer, trouble-shoot and repair IT systems and related components, (software & hardware)
•Support users on equipment and software
•Perform upgrades to software, including security updates, virus updates, vendor related software fixes and patches.
•Provide support to the directorate's customers on evaluating, installing, modifying, and using a variety of personal computer and software to accomplish assigned functions .
•Detect damaged or lost files, optimize disk management, measure system performance, control system security, and/or extend system capabilities to support local requirements.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
Applicant must demonstrate at least one year of experience in a closely related field as the position to be filled, and demonstrate that he/she possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) required for the position, as described in the KSAs section below. To be creditable, experience must have been gained at a level that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade (BA-09).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge to install and maintain software and hardware, control current versions and future releases of applications software, and document the physical configuration of an information system.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols and equipment used in the organization sufficient to troubleshoot, recover, modify and improve IT systems.
- Ability to provide user training on operating system commands, communications software and application systems.

US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logistical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.

•Temporary contract NTE Return of Incumbent, full-time (38 hours/week)
