As a Contract Logistics Shiftleader at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage warehousing operations Shifts. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. Become the Driving Force Behind Our Logistics Operations as Shift Leader in Beringen!
As a Shift Leader, you’ll play a key role in the daily organization of our warehouse operations. Leading a team of approximately 80 people through Team Leaders and administrative staff, you’ll ensure smooth execution of all activities during your shift. With a strong focus on food safety and operational excellence in a retail environment, you’ll be the go-to person for coordination, communication, and performance. Your leadership will help us meet our KPIs and deliver top-quality service to our clients.
How you create impact
1. Organize and oversee a fully planned shift in the warehouse, managing both team leaders and administrative staff.
2. Maintain a clear overview of all ongoing activities and report to the Operations or Site Manager.
3. Ensure compliance with food safety and operational standards in a retail environment with perishable goods.
4. Collaborate with the planning team to ensure accurate scheduling of activities.
5. Monitor and achieve KPIs, proactively adjusting operations when needed.
6. Maintain operational contact with the client, who is regularly present on-site.
7. Communicate effectively with your team, lead regular team meetings, and coach your Team Leaders.
8. Foster a positive and productive work environment through strong leadership and clear direction.

11. Experience in a retail logistics environment and working with perishable goods is a plus.
12. Proven experience managing large teams and understanding complex warehouse administration.
13. Proficient in Excel, warehouse management systems (WMS), and MS Office tools.
14. Willing to work in shifts (early, late, night) and on weekends.
15. Fluent in English. Dutch & French are very advantageous.
