Technical/R&D Category Buyer Initial 1 year contract (freelance) + possible extensionsLeuven, Belgium (3 days onsite/week)ASAP start40 hours/weekOverviewThe direct category buyer will have responsibility for a specific spend area of the R&D equipment and materials and will support and coordinate public tenders. The Category Buyer will also create and lead value creation initiatives which improve quality of service and supply. Additionally, will support the strategic quality and innovation targets, partner closely with stakeholders from our Research & Development department, business development department, Legal, Finance and Export Control as well as partnering with external suppliers.The assignmentSupport the public and non-public procurement team in tender processes ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and requirements are fully captured, reviewed, aligned and finalized in time.Required knowledge and experience
- Proven experience in procurement with a track record of at least 5 years’ relevant experience in the field
- Strong technical or engineering background.
- Self-motivated, pro-active, well-structured and eye for details
- Strong team orientation and excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English, and Dutch (optional)
