Innovation Research & Communications Associate
The Innovation Research & Communications Associate supports the Innovation Lab by translating complex research, projects, and insights into clear, engaging, and accessible content for a wide range of audiences. This role blends research, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to presentations, reports, multimedia assets, and events that showcase the impact of innovation at WSIB. Students in this role work closely with internal and external partners while developing strong research, communication, and design-thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
7. Comfort conducting research and synthesizing information
8. Experience with common productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Expected pay range: $28.36 per hour for a student in their first co-op term to $29.51 per hour for a student in their fifth co-op term or enrolled in a Master's degree.
Data Engineering Associate
The Data Engineering Associate contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, datasets, and reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making across WSIB. This role focuses on extracting, transforming, validating, and structuring data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and usability. Students gain exposure to enterprise-scale data platforms, analytics workflows, and collaboration with both business and IT stakeholders.

10. Education in computer science, engineering, data, or a related discipline
11. Experience or coursework involving SQL and data analysis
12. Familiarity with programming or analytics tools (e.g., Python, Power BI, R, or Azure)
13. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

UX/UI Design Associate
The UX/UI Design Associate supports user-centred design activities across Innovation Lab initiatives, helping shape intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling digital solutions. This role involves conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, contributing to design standards, and collaborating closely with developers. Students will help advocate for users while building their design portfolio and strengthening practical UX/UI skills.
Requirements
14. Enrollment in a design, technology, or related academic program
15. Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop)
16. A portfolio demonstrating web, mobile, or digital design work
17. Strong communication and collaboration skills
Expected pay range: $30.49 per hour for a student in their first co-op term to $31.73 per hour for a student in their fifth co-op term or enrolled in a Master's degree.
Full-Stack Developer
The Full-Stack Developer supports the development of innovative digital products by contributing to front-end and/or back-end development, proof-of-concepts, and exploratory technical research. This role operates within an agile, collaborative environment, working closely with designers and other team members to build, test, and iterate on modern software solutions.
Requirements
18. Education in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
19. Experience with web or mobile development technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, Swift)
20. Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
21. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
Expected pay range: $33.51 per hour for a student in their first co-op term to $34.87 per hour for a student in their fifth co-op term or enrolled in a Master's degree.
Analytics Associate
The Analytics Associate supports the development of reports, dashboards, and analytical products that help WSIB understand performance, trends, and outcomes. This role involves extracting and analyzing data, validating results, documenting requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver clear, actionable insights. Students gain experience working with enterprise data and business intelligence tools.

Data Science Associate
The Data Science Associate supports advanced analytics and machine-learning initiatives, working with large and complex datasets to develop predictive models and data-driven solutions. This role contributes to feature engineering, model development, and the integration of analytics into operational systems, helping WSIB make evidence-based decisions at scale.

26. Education in data science, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
27. Coursework or experience in machine learning, statistics, or predictive modeling
28. Experience with programming and data tools (e.g., Python, R, Spark, or Power BI)
29. Strong analytical reasoning and curiosity

General Professional Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must be:
30. Legally authorized to work in Ontario, Canada full time (36.25 hours/week)
31. Currently be a post-secondary student who is enrolled as a full-time, post-secondary co-op student in a recognized Ontario institution.
32. Applicants must be available to work full time for the entire summer term (May 4, 2026 – September 4, 2026). Preference is given to those able to commit to two or more work terms
33. If you advance in the job recruitment process, you will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work legally in Canada
