Our Hopper dredgers (TSHD) and Cutter dredgers (CSD) work around the world on the most challenging dredging projects. Being a sailor with DEME is not sailing from A to B. We need 1st Mates with experience in Dredging to keep our fleet active 24/7 around the world.

7. You will work on board a TSHD under the Master's supervision
8. You determine how the dredging work should be performed, in consultation with the Master
9. You are responsible during your watch for directing the dredging work and optimizing the production
10. You ascertain whether any maintenance is required with respect to the dredging installation and the auxiliary installation with the First Engineer
11. You communicate with the project managers, site superintendents, surveyors and local authorities. It is part of the daily job
12. You give clear and balanced feedback to your co-workers, aiming at the development of others
13. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nautical sciences or you followed an 'MBO-4' or ‘HBO’ education in a maritime academy or nautical institute
14. You have worked in the position of 1st Mate or Master in the dredging business for several years
15. You hold a COC of II/2
16. You speak and write fluent English
17. You have a strong awareness of Health, Safety and Environment
18. You have a hands-on and no nonsense mentality

Project Engineer Infra

Technical Equipment Supervisor
The Technical Equipment Supervisor (TES), is the main responsible person for the technical state of the Cable Burial Tool (CBT), whether on the vessel during operations or on shore during maintenance and modifications. The TES is also the main responsible person on the vessel to execute burial in accordance with the agreed burial methodology and has a key role in the optimization of the burial process, improvement program for the trencher and the training of the operational crew.

Geologist
As a geologist, you will work as a part of the EDT team (Engineering, Design & Technology) in our HQ in Zwijndrecht, near Antwerp (Belgium).
