You will join a large public-sector digital environment undergoing continued modernization, with a strong focus on platform evolution and microservices integration. The organization is accelerating the delivery and integration of new digital services within a modernized platform landscape.
In this role, you will take end-to-end responsibility for coordinating services, teams, and delivery activities to ensure operational excellence, scalability, and alignment with the broader IT strategy.
What you'll do
* Take ownership of service delivery across multiple teams and activities to achieve agreed objectives.
* Coordinate and accelerate the integration and creation of new microservices within an existing platform ecosystem.
* Act as a bridge between technical teams, service management, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and continuity.
* Apply and enforce service management best practices across incident, problem, release, dependency, and change management.
* Provide advisory input by proactively identifying improvement opportunities and proposing concrete solutions.
* Support teams in working effectively across team boundaries, promoting collaboration and shared accountability.
* Ensure delivery aligns with organizational strategy, governance, and quality standards.
* Monitor service performance, risks, and dependencies, and intervene where necessary to maintain stability and progress.
What are we looking for?
* You have
at least 10 years of experience
in a senior
Service Manager or similar role
.
* You have strong experience with
IT Service Management frameworks
, including
ITIL
(Incident, Problem, Release, Dependency, and Change Management).
* You have proven experience working in
Agile environments
, including
Scrum ceremonies, Definition of Ready (DoR), and Definition of Done (DoD)
.
* You are familiar with project and program governance frameworks such as
PRINCE2 and/or PMFin
.
* You have a solid understanding of microservices architecture, including synchronous and asynchronous communication (REST, messaging/queues).
* You understand relational databases (minimum DB2) and core data quality principles.
* Knowledge of the
organizational and IT structure of the Belgian federal public administration
, specifically within finance-related domains.
* You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can integrate complex information into actionable decisions.
* You speak
English fluently
and you have a
good working knowledge of Dutch or French
.
