Role Overview
The EMEA Communications Manager plays a critical leadership role in accelerating regional growth by combining with best-in-class growth marketing execution. This role is responsible for translating commercial and product priorities into coherent, impactful communication and go-to-market plans across the region.
The EMEA Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies that support the company’s business objectives, brand positioning, and stakeholder engagement. The role ensures consistent, clear, and effective messaging across all channels and regions.
The successful candidate will be an empathetic and highly effective facilitator/communicator, able to collaborate closely with Commercial Directors and Product Managers. Listen actively to stakeholders, convert commercial objectives into structured marketing and communication plans, and constructively challenge assumptions and activities where appropriate (e.g., evaluating the relevance and ROI of event participation and sponsorships, and helping define focus areas for key events) ensuring that marketing initiatives effectively support agreed strategic objectives.
As a good mediator he/she has to translate all regional/cluster ideas and goals into one coordinated Planasa communication strategy and marketing execution as a part of the company’s overall priorities.
This position involve managing strategy and team members, often acting as a bridge between senior directors and staff specialists, a key enabler of the company’s mid- to long-term growth plans across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy facilitator
* Support the business owners in defining and documenting their strategies, focusing on:
o ‘Where to Grow’ and ‘How to Win’
o Convert commercial objectives into structured marketing and communication plans
* Support the expansion of Planasa across EMEA aligned with global strategic objectives
* Facilitate the design of the company strategy and Mid-Long Term Plan (MLTP) for EMEA
2. Communication
· Develop and implement an EMEA communication strategy aligned with corporate and commercial priorities.
· Manage internal communications in close collaboration with the internal communication department to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with company objectives.
· Oversee external communications, including corporate messaging, web site, press releases, (social) media and media relations
· Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials and channels.
· Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, R&D, HR, and Leadership teams to translate business goals into clear communication plans.
· Manage communication related to key initiatives, launches and events.
· Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on communication topics and messaging.
3. Events Management
Event Strategy & Execution
* Define and lead the EMEA events strategy as a core component of the growth marketing and communication plan
* Plan, promote, and execute together with the marketing team to determine the best outcome:
o Showrooms
o Open Days (Meet & Greet, Genetic platforms, …)
o Trade Shows
* Transform events into strategic communication and demand-generation assets, aligned with brand positioning and sales priorities
Event Portfolio & Governance
* Evaluate and classify events as strategic, tactical, or dispensable based on impact, ROI, and alignment with business priorities
* Establish and deploy global event protocols to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency across the region
* Continuously optimize the event portfolio using performance data and feedback
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
* Guide the The communication and Marketing specialists, overseeing end-to-end delivery and ensuring cross-functional alignment with Sales, Product, and Communications
* Manage agencies, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality experiences
4. M&A Integration & Business Transformation
* Act as mediator, aligning teams, processes, and culture to support growth post acquisition consistency where possible (eg joint participation of fairs, events,..)
* Support the integration process of newly acquired companies (e.g., ABZ, ABB, and future acquisitions) within EMEA
Required academic training
* Master degree in Marketing, International Business Management or Communications
Required Work Experience
* Senior experience in Marketing communication roles (+/-10 years) within an EMEA context, ideally in agriculture or food
* Proven track record in cross-functional leadership, strategic planning
* Strong expertise in event-led growth and field marketing
* Executive-level communication and stakeholder management capabilities
* Be ´in love´ with Agriculture

Additional info
This position is based in one of Planasa’s Spain offices (Madrid, Cartaya) and requires regular regional travel across EMEA. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet business needs
