Thanks to our growing Contract Logistics business, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced talent to join our controlling team in Belgium. We are looking for a Business Controller for a new important FMCG project in Beringen. You will play an important role in overseeing the financial management and control of a new large automation project and will focus primarily on the start-up and roll-out of the operation. You will be working closely together with the project team and local site management and provide them with financial insights that guide them in their decision-making process. Besides this, you will also support our growth ambition in other domains by supporting the team with the preparation of investment applications, commercial proposals, business analysis, forecasting etc. You will report directly to the National Controller Contract Logistics.
How you create impact
1. Pro-actively support the business with financial and operational analysis;
2. Discuss improvements with various stakeholders in order to increase the profitability and productivity
3. Challenge & defend business cases to justify investments
4. Analyse, challenge & validate (new) customer contracts
5. Responsible for month and year-end closing
6. Responsible for the quarterly forecasting & yearly budgeting process
7. Validate the financial impact of operational improvements
8. Other ad-hoc tasks, as required
What we would like you to bring
9. A university degree in Finance and a minimum of 8 years’ experience, preferably with audit and similar-role background.
10. Deep knowledge of logistics cost systems, combined with sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
11. Hands-on project management experience with a proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration.
12. Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is a valuable asset.
13. Ability to communicate across all levels, challenge data, form independent opinions, and present insightful analysis.
14. A structured, strategic thinker who can synthesize complex details into actionable insight.
15. Strong business acumen paired with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
16. A proactive, reliable team player with a can-do attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
