The expansion of the EngineeringDepartment means we are now looking to recruit new Head of Designin Visé, Belgium and reporting to the GMW Technology Manager.

* Can you lead the creation of blueprints and technical plans while meeting project standards?

* Can you oversee manufacturing and ensure design quality while coordinating with teams?
As Head of Design, you'd beperforming mechanical and/or electrical drafting and supply with accurate technical documentation in order to ensure that components/equipments will be manufactured within the quality standards and at minimum cost, whilst conforming to projects requirements, to safety, environmental and manufacturing guidelines.
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead the research, drafting, and development of blueprints, engineering plans, and technical graphics, ensuring alignment with project requirements and company standards.
* Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the design team, fostering a culture of innovation, precision, and continuous improvement.
* Identify and implement advanced solutions to enhance production efficiency, leveraging cutting-edge design methodologies and tools.
* Utilize design software to create detailed models and drawings, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
* Oversee the maintenance and optimization of existing engineering records and designs, ensuring they remain up-to-date and relevant.
* Conduct thorough assessments of engineering prototypes to identify potential issues, risks, or areas for improvement, and propose actionable solutions.
* Develop and manage cost estimates and budgets for new designs, ensuring financial feasibility and alignment with company objectives.
* Supervise and provide technical oversight during the manufacturing process, ensuring designs are executed to the highest quality standards.
* Act as a key liaison, coordinating effectively with engineers, cross-functional teams, and management to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
* Champion best practices in design and engineering, setting a high standard for technical excellence and operational efficiency.
What we’d love for you to have:

If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage:
* Electro-Mechanical Engineering background (or other corresponding technical education)
* A minimum of 10 years’ experience in equipment electro-mechanical design
* Knowledge of CAD softwares (2D and 3D), techniques and presentation methods
* Having a good knowledge of computer software tools (Navisworks, MS office, …)
* Experience in the industrial sector
* Experienced with multi-cultural, international and matrix organizations
* Language: Fluent in English. Any other language is a plus (French, German, …)
* Willing to travel for work up to 25% of your time (EMEA-APAC regions)
