R&D Quality Intelligence Lead
who is

Global Quality (QMS & Quality Intelligence)

About The Role
You will lead the end‑to‑end Quality Intelligence strategy across R&D (GCP/GLP/GCLP). You're going to design, implement, and continuously improve how we sense, interpret, and act on regulatory and inspection signals—while building sustainable, organization‑wide knowledge. You will also drive external advocacy to help shape future regulations and ensure UCB stays inspection‑ready and future‑proof.
Who You Will Work With
You will partner closely with the Head of QMS & Quality Intelligence and collaborate with Global Quality, Patient Evidence (Clinical Operations, Global Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety), and Patient Solutions (including Labs Operations). You're going to build strong connections with industry bodies (e.g., EFPIA, IFPMA, BioPhorum, Avoca, Impala) to align UCB's position and amplify our voice.
What You Will Do
* You will lead the Regulatory & Inspection Intelligence process across R&D and embed proactive compliance behaviors.
* You will be responsible for monitoring global sources, triaging signals, and activating owners to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
* You will manage impact assessments, action plans, and end‑to‑end tracking until timely, auditable closure.
* You will align with QMS teams so critical signals translate into plans, controls, and continuous‑improvement priorities.
* You will prepare the organization for inspections and support responses to Quality Intelligence‑related queries.
* You will shape tool roadmaps, define metrics, and drive adoption, performance, and engagement across the process.

For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills
* Master's degree in a relevant scientific or health discipline.
* Deep, current experience in Regulatory and/or Inspection Intelligence for GLP, GCP, and GCLP in biopharma.
* Proven advocacy experience and external engagement to influence policy across geographies.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills; you will brief and influence senior leadership.
* Strong analytics and problem‑solving; you will turn complex, global signals into clear decisions.
* Self‑directed and collaborative; you're going to mobilize a matrixed, global network to deliver outcomes.
