1. You are part of the IT Data & AI Team and play a key role in shaping, implementing, and enhancing our Data Lake using Azure Databricks
2. Source Integration: Establish connections to diverse systems via APIs, ODBC, Event Hubs, and sFTP protocols.
3. ETL/ELT Pipelines: Design and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
4. Medallion Architecture: Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers using formats like Delta, Parquet, and JSON for data transformation.
5. Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models using star schema and slowly changing dimensions for analytics and operations.
6. Data Governance: Ensure robust data security with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Unity Catalog.
7. Performance Optimization: Tune pipelines, optimize queries, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, IT team, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions. As Azure Sr. Data Engineer you’ll collaborate with our partners and BME, our parent company, and play a pivotal role in driving our digital transformation.
The experience and knowledge you bring
9. Experience: At least 5+ years as an Azure Data Engineer.
10. Technical Expertise:
11. Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Azure Storage.
12. Strong skills in SQL, Python, and data modeling techniques.
13. Familiarity with data formats like Parquet and JSON.
14. Experience with AI/ML model management on Azure Databricks.
15. Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
16. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
17. Language Skills: Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory. French is a plus.
18. Knowledge of PowerBI is a plus.
