About EVBB
EVBB is a Brussels-based European NGO representing over +850 vocational education and training (VET) providers across 81 countries. From our Annual Conference to policy seminars, member webinars and dissemination events, EVBB convenes the European VET community around the issues that matter. We are looking for an Events & Communications Manager to lead this convening function and amplify EVBB's voice externally.
Your Role
You will be responsible for everything that makes EVBB visible our events, our communications, and our external presence. From the Annual Conference to the newsletter to our social media channels, you ensure that EVBB speaks with a clear, consistent, and compelling voice.
This is a hands-on role that combines strategic thinking with operational delivery. You will manage budgets, coordinate with speakers and venues, produce content, and ensure that every EVBB touchpoint online or in person reflects the quality and ambition of the organisation.
You will work closely with the Policy Department on high-level event content (speakers, themes, institutional guests) and with the PM Department to ensure project dissemination reaches the right audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Events Management
• Lead the organisation of EVBB's Annual Conference: venue selection, programme design, speaker coordination, logistics, and on-site management
• Organise policy conferences, thematic seminars, and member webinars throughout the year
• Coordinate speaker invitations and briefings in close collaboration with the Policy Department for institutional guests (MEPs, EC officials, ETF/Cedefop)
• Manage event registrations, participant communications, and post-event follow-up
• Represent EVBB at external events conferences, fairs, and EU-level meetings where EVBB should have a visible presence
• Develop EVBB's side-event strategy at major EU education and training conferences
Communications & Digital Presence
• Manage EVBB's external communications strategy across all channels: website, LinkedIn, X, and newsletter
• Produce and distribute the EVBB newsletter and member bulletins :regular, engaging, and on-brand
• Write and edit press releases, project updates, policy announcements, and institutional communications
• Maintain and update the EVBB website :content management, news, project pages, member section
• Develop and execute a social media calendar with consistent voice and regular engagement
• Coordinate with the PM Department to ensure project outputs and results are disseminated to EVBB's network and beyond
• Commission and manage external suppliers :graphic designers, video producers, photographers, within budget
Your Profile
Essential
• Proven experience organising professional events : conferences, seminars, or large-scale meetings
• Strong communications skills : writing, editing, and storytelling in English
• Experience managing social media channels and digital communications for an organisation
• Budget management experience : able to deliver quality events within defined envelopes
• Highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Based in Brussels or willing to relocate
Assets
• Experience in a European institution, NGO, association, or international organisation
• Knowledge of the VET, education, or training sector
• Experience with EU-funded project dissemination and communication plans
• Graphic design skills or experience working with design tools (Canva, Adobe, etc.)
• Existing network in the Brussels events and communications ecosystem
