EY Legal & Regulatory is looking for ambitious and talented legal and regulatory consultants who accumulated a few years of relevant experience and are eager to (further) specialize in financial regulatory topics.

Your profile
* A Master's Degree in (Belgian) law
* Interest in/affinity with financial law and regulations (such as banking and insurance) and the relevant laws and regulations impacting them (e.g. AML, MiFID, ESG etc)., with the willingness to learn further in that direction
* Fluency in Dutch and/or French and English
* Good communication skills
* Strong team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy
Your Key Responsibilities
* You will join a team of legal and regulatory professionals who offer support to the Financial Services Industry, including banking, asset management, insurance, and payment services
* You will, in the context of broader projects, collaborate with experts across the different areas of the Financial Services Industry value chain, such as risk management specialists, strategy consultants,
* You will collaborate with top-tier financial institutions (both on an ad-hoc basis as on a loaning of staff basis)
* You will also have the opportunity to mentor and support more junior team members
As a Consultant, you will work closely with clients to help them navigate complex new and existing regulations, ensuring compliance while driving business success. You will provide strategic legal advice, contribute to regulatory implementation projects, and collaborate with financial institutions' compliance and legal teams.
Your work will cover key regulatory topics such as:
* Financial Crime (AML, Sanctions, Market Abuse, Fraud)
* Banking & Capital Markets (MiFID, MiCAR)
* Payment Services (FinTech, PSD3, digital finance)
* Asset Management
* Insurance (IDD incl. Value For Money, DORA, FiDA)
* Compliance & Governance (Fit & Proper, Board effectiveness)
* Data Protection, Privacy & Emerging Technologies
* Sustainable Finance & ESG Compliance
You'll be at the forefront of regulatory change, working in multidisciplinary teams across Belgium and EMEIA. Your role will include client interaction, business development, and helping shape the future of EY's Legal & Regulatory services.
