Every third bite of food humans eat depends on pollinators. Yet honeybee colonies worldwide are collapsing at alarming rates — largely due to poor nutrition. At APIX Biosciences, we are fixing that. We are a well-funded, family-owned European scale-up developing science-based nutrition products for honeybees. Our flagship product, PRF-1, is the world's first manufactured feed that truly replaces pollen — the essential food source for honeybees. Developed in close collaboration with researchers and beekeepers worldwide, PRF-1 gives beekeepers a practical tool to support colonies facing pollen shortages. We are active in Europe, the United States, and Australia. We are now entering the commercial launch phase across Europe — and this is the moment to join us. The Role: You will be the voice of APIX — translating complex bee science into marketing that moves beekeepers, distributors, and retailers to act. This is our first dedicated internal marketing hire. You will have real ownership, build from the ground up, and see your work in the market fast. Our R&D site, state-of-the-art production plant, and management team are based in Wingene — midway between Bruges and Ghent, with easy access to the E40 highway. You will work directly with the executive team, R&D scientists, and business development managers as we grow our European, US, and Australian network. Key Responsibilities: - Brand & Messaging:
- Define and enforce brand and product principles, guidelines, and tone of voice
- Translate scientific and technical product information into clear, compelling value propositions for hobby beekeepers, commercial beekeepers, distributors, retailers, and agri-food professionals
- Develop core marketing messages and educational content in collaboration with our technical team - Content & Materials Creation:
- Create marketing materials from scratch: flyers, brochures, POS, distributor sales kits, social media graphics, trade show materials, product labels
- Design materials using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools; coordinate with external designers and print suppliers where needed
- Build adaptable content frameworks for roll-out across European markets and ultimately the US and Australia - Commercial Support:
- Support early distributor and retail marketing activities with tailored materials and messaging
- Represent APIX at trade shows, beekeeper associations, and agri-food events across Europe
- Collaborate closely with Business Development on go-to-market execution and channel launch Your Profile:
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or product marketing — ideally with ownership of a product line or brand
- Background in agri-food, animal feed, life sciences, pharma, consumer goods, or technical B2B2C products is a strong advantage
- Proven experience supporting product launches or early-stage commercialisation
- Comfortable working with scientific or technical content — you understand the need for precise language and brand consistency
- Strong written communication skills in English (required); additional European languages (Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish) are a significant plus
- Hands-on, autonomous, and pragmatic — you get things done in a fast-paced environment
- Thrive in a small, high-trust team where initiative is rewarded
- Genuinely curious about science, nature, and sustainable agriculture What We Offer:
- A mission that matters: help protect honeybee populations and the food systems that depend on them
- First marketing hire — build the brand from the ground up with real ownership
- Direct collaboration with the executive team from day one
- Remuneration package in line with your experience and Belgian market standards, including full benefits
- Clear growth path as the company scales across Europe, the US, and Australia
- European and international travel to distributors, trade shows, and field trials
