VALIDATION ENGINEER - KORTRIJK (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
Job Description
We are looking for a Validation Engineer to join an engineering team, supporting the development and deployment of advanced technology systems across diverse real-world applications such as industrial automation and smart infrastructure.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for designing and executing validation plans to ensure that products meet performance, reliability, and quality standards. You’ll build and maintain both lab and field test environments, monitor system behavior, collect and analyze data, and identify performance gaps.
Your work will directly support development teams and contribute to product improvement from early prototyping through to final release.
This role is ideal for someone with a practical mindset, strong technical curiosity, and a passion for field testing and validation of complex systems involving hardware, software, and networking components.
Key Responsibilities
Validation Planning & Execution
* Develop and implement validation strategies and test procedures for complex systems.
* Design and build test setups that simulate real-world conditions in both lab and field environments.
* Evaluate system performance under varying environmental and operational conditions.
System Behavior Monitoring & Evaluation
* Analyze performance metrics and operational data to assess system behavior.
* Identify, document, and help troubleshoot anomalies or failures.
* Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
Field Testing & Data Collection
* Set up and maintain test systems in outdoor and indoor environments, including autonomous or off-grid (battery/solar-powered) setups.
* Monitor long-term deployments and ensure consistent, high-quality data acquisition.
* Collect and manage test data for performance validation and further analysis.
Collaboration & Reporting
* Coordinate closely with R&D, software, and systems teams to align validation plans with product requirements.
* Provide clear documentation, progress updates, and comprehensive test reports.
* Suggest improvements to test procedures, tooling, and methodologies.
Qualifications
* Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in system-level validation, field deployment, or test engineering.
* Hands-on proficiency with mechanical assembly, basic electronics, and networking (e.g., Ethernet).
* Comfortable setting up test environments and using lab and field instrumentation.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with scripting or data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
* Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in dynamic environments.
