We are seeking an experienced Senior Functional Analyst with strong expertise in Life Insurance to join our team. The ideal candidate combines a solid background in business analysis and functional analysis, and thrives in an Agile delivery environment. You will act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business needs into clear functional specifications and supporting delivery through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a senior functional expert within Life Insurance domains (e.G. policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, regulatory requirements)
* Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements in collaboration with business stakeholders
* Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
* Work closely with developers, testers, product owners, and other analysts throughout the delivery lifecycle
* Support solution design, particularly for systems involving COBOL-based legacy platforms
* Analyse data and support investigations using SQL
* Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
* Clarify requirements during development and support testing and user acceptance activities
* Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies, and proactively propose solutions
* Ensure delivered solutions align with business objectives and regulatory standards
Required Experience & Skills:
* Proven experience as a Senior Functional Analyst within the Life Insurance industry
* Prior experience xphnsxz working as both a Business Analyst and Functional Analyst (preferred)
* Strong understanding of insurance processes and systems
* Hands-on experience working with:
* COBOL-based systems
* SQL (data analysis, validation, troubleshooting)
* Solid experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with developers and technical teams
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Native-level French or Dutch, with fluent English (spoken and written)
