We are seeking a Senior Digital Communications & Website Specialist to join our content management and stakeholder coordination team. In this role, you will contribute to the creation, review, and optimization of online content aimed at citizens and SMEs. You will work closely with policy owners, analysts, and multiple internal and external partners to ensure high-quality, accurate, and user-friendly information delivery across a wide range of policy areas.
The ideal candidate will be a senior profile (minimum 5 years of specific experience) capable of translating complex technical or policy-related topics into clear, engaging communication while ensuring the organization’s digital presence remains modern and secure.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Communications & Editorial
* Content Creation: Prepare, draft, and collect source material to create concise, accessible content that simplifies technical or policy-heavy topics for non-expert audiences.
* Social Media Management: Manage and grow the organization’s presence across social media platforms, including planning, drafting, and engagement optimization.
* Visual Impact: Create high-quality visual content, such as infographics and digital assets, to support impactful communication.
* Quality Assurance: Coordinate and review public content to ensure it meets high-quality standards and clear, plain language requirements.
Website Design & Management
* Technical Maintenance: Maintain, update, and improve the website, ensuring strong usability, accessibility, and link-health.
* Website Revamp: Lead major website upgrades or full redesigns, including revamping pages, structure, layout, and user journeys.
* CMS Development: Develop and maintain selected sections of the CMS back-office (specifically WordPress) and report technical issues or bugs.
* User Insights: Conduct user surveys and integrate insights into website and communication improvements.
* Compliance: Ensure all digital operations adhere to IT, security, and GDPR standards.
Stakeholder Coordination
* Relationship Management: Act as a bridge between business analysts, policy owners, national coordinators, and webmasters.
* Problem Solving: Resolve stakeholder complaints quickly and efficiently while enforcing plans that meet their needs.
* Support: Participate in technical meetings and provide business or technical presentations to various audiences.
Required Skills & Experience
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of specific experience in digital communications and web design.
* Sector Background: Previous experience within European Institutions is a priority.
* Technical Mastery: * Strong proficiency with WordPress CMS (custom themes, plugins, and asset optimization).
* Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
* Familiarity with PHP, Linux/Apache/Nginx stacks, and caching layers like Varnish.
* Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or Matomo.
* Editorial Excellence: Excellent drafting, editing, and proofreading skills in English (Level C2); French is a strong asset.
* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business Management, or a related field.
