About the Role
We are seeking a Telephony Designer (Freelance) to join our client's Telephony & IoT team for a high-impact, 10-month mission based in Gosselies, Belgium. This is your opportunity to architect, optimize, and secure next-generation IP telephony and call center environments, directly shaping the digital backbone of a major organization. You'll work at the intersection of architecture, operations, and innovation, ensuring performance, availability, and security at scale.

What You'll Be Doing
* Design, document, and ensure the consistency of IP telephony and call center architectures (Mitel/Unify, Genesys Cloud)
* Lead integration studies and drive the evolution of existing infrastructures
* Define, implement, and support security measures (SIP, encryption, network segmentation, authentication)
* Participate in projects for expansion, evolution, or migration of telephony platforms
* Configure and maintain telephony and call center environments (call flows, extensions, routing, security)
* Monitor and optimize systems: capacity planning, tuning, availability, and quality of service
* Ensure system backups, restores, and patching
* Implement and track software updates in collaboration with Release Management
* Maintain technical and operational documentation (procedures, inventories, user guides)
* Provide Level 2/3 support: advanced diagnostics and resolution of complex incidents
* Coordinate incident monitoring and escalations with service providers/integrators
* Analyze recurring incidents and propose sustainable solutions
* Support and train Level 1 teams in daily ticket management
* Manage and challenge external service providers
* Conduct audits and site surveys to verify technical readiness
* Produce and analyze KPIs (performance, availability, quality)
* Contribute to system streamlining and cost control
* Occasionally support related services: printing infrastructure, multimedia, SIM fleet management, and small IT equipment requests
* Participate in planned interventions outside business hours as needed
* Guarantee continuity and resilience of telephony services
Technical Skills
* Expertise in IP telephony environments (Mitel, Unify) and call center platforms (ideally Genesys Cloud)
* Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, VoIP, routing, and switching
* Network design and architecture for IP telephony (QoS, VLAN, SBC, SIP trunk)
* Mastery of telephony security (TLS/SRTP, firewalls, SBC, authentication, segmentation)
* Experience monitoring and tuning telephony environments (voice quality, latency, MOS, jitter)
* Familiarity with ITIL processes: incident, problem, and change management
* Proficiency with monitoring and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Nagios, Grafana, or equivalent)
* Experience coordinating and managing service providers
* Experience in multi-site environments and cloud integration is a strong plus
* Proven ability to create and maintain operational and technical documentation
* Experience designing, adapting, or implementing new telephony and call center systems
* Experience in Genesys Cloud call center technologies is highly valued
* Experience in monitoring and tuning telephone network systems
* Experience coordinating teams and partners/integrators
Language Proficiency
* French: C1 (CEFR) – must have
* English: B2 (CEFR) – must have
