Working Model: Hybrid (approximately 2 days per week in-office, depending on location)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with an interest in geospatial data to join a growing data team responsible for one of the most critical components of a data-driven platform: the address and location data infrastructure.
This role sits at the heart of the organisation's data ecosystem. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving large-scale address datasets that support search, data linking, analytics, and product functionality across multiple business areas.
The position offers the opportunity to solve complex real-world geospatial challenges involving fragmented data sources, historical location changes, inconsistent formats, and data quality issues. It is ideal for an engineer who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and working with large, complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve a core address and location data platform
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and validation
- Integrate and standardise data from multiple external and internal sources
- Develop solutions for address matching, enrichment, deduplication, and linking
- Resolve complex geospatial and data quality challenges
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure reliable downstream data usage
- Contribute to broader data engineering initiatives and platform improvements
What You'll Bring
Required Experience-
- Strong background in Data Engineering
- Experience designing and maintaining production-grade data pipelines
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of critical systems
- Experience with data quality, validation, and transformation processes
Preferred Experience-
- Experience working with geospatial (GIS) data or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area
- Familiarity with cloud-based data infrastructure, particularly AWS
- Experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
- Exposure to integrating multiple external data sources
- Experience working with complex, messy, or fragmented datasets
- Knowledge of European geographic or address datasets is advantageous
