Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities
- In this context, the Strategy and Architecture division of Client wishes to enlist the services of a Business Process & DATA Architect to support the framing and operational implementation of the IT strategy of the water sector in Wallonia. The mission, aimed at structuring business processes and their alignment with the application and technical layers, will involve, among other things, active participation in the implementation of GIS solutions at several of Client's cooperators as well as in the deployment of use-cases in connection with the DATA platform, which constitute 40% of the portfolio of projects to be carried out by Client.
Mission
The Business Process & DATA Architect will have the following main responsibilities:
The mission is divided into two main areas requiring a facilitation and technical expertise approach:
Project support (e.g. GIS, Investment Planning, etc.):
- Collection and scoping: Conducting interviews and workshops with the different business lines to identify needs and constraints.
- BPM Modeling: Mapping of \"AS-IS\" processes and definition of \"TO-BE\" target processes using the BPMN 2.0 standard.
- Functional analysis: Translation of business needs into functional requirements (SMART method) for, for example, the shared GIS platform.
Support for the DATA Strategy/Architecture:
- Governance and MDM: Design of shared data repositories (Master Data Management) to ensure the uniqueness and consistency of industry data.
- Data architecture: Definition of conceptual and logical models to ensure interoperability between actors.
The various missions that will be entrusted to the Business Process & DATA Architecture will therefore include the following activities:
- Structured process representation
- Detailed BPMN process modeling (macro → detailed level)
- Create standardized diagrams
- Define flows, events, rules, and exceptions

- Business views (processes, actors)

- Business Data Dictionary: Shared definition of terms and data used in workshops with business lines.
- Data Catalog: A documented inventory of the data estate to ensure visibility and accessibility.
- Data Lineage: Documentation of the traceability of information from its original source to its end use.
e) Benchmarks and Urbanization
- Shared Data Repositories (MDM): Design of Master Data Management solutions to guarantee the uniqueness and consistency of critical data in the sector (e.g. customer data, assets, etc.).
- Urbanization strategy note: Document describing the organization of data flows and the rationalization of interfaces between the various actors in the sector.
Required Experience
3 to 7 years of experience in:
- Process Architecture and Modeling'
- or Enterprise Architecture
- Real-world experience:
- BPM projects / transformation
- urbanization SI
- Experience with ArchiMate / Archi (highly desired)
- Experience in the public sector / utilities = a big asset
