EPLAN Designer / Electrical Design Engineer (Warehouse Logistics & Robotics)

About the Role
A major player in the warehouse logistics and robotics sector is seeking an experienced EPLAN Designer / Electrical Design Engineer to support a large-scale automation and robotics deployment programme across Europe. This is a hands-on, high-impact contract suited to someone who enjoys fast-paced environments, complex electrical design challenges, and international project work.
You'll spend the first month in Belgium for onboarding, system integration workshops, and initial design activities. After that, you'll travel to multiple European sites to support electrical design, documentation, and commissioning for advanced warehouse automation and robotic systems. One remote working day per week is included for documentation and planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed electrical designs using EPLAN Electric P8 (2024) for automated warehouse and robotic systems
* Produce and maintain schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
* Support the electrical integration of robotics, conveyors, AS/RS systems, and automated handling equipment
* Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and robotics engineers across multiple European sites
* Provide on-site support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
* Ensure designs comply with relevant industrial and safety standards
* Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the lifecycle
* Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations
* Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to validate design feasibility
Required Skills & Experience
* 3–5 years of experience with EPLAN (ideally EPLAN 2024)
* Strong background in electrical design for automation, robotics, or warehouse logistics systems
* Solid understanding of industrial control systems, PLC interfaces, and safety circuits
* Experience working with automated material handling equipment is highly desirable
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
* High flexibility for extensive European travel after the initial onboarding period
Additional Requirements
* Valid passport and ability to travel freely within Europe
* Willingness to spend the first month in Belgium
* Comfortable working in operational warehouse and industrial environments
* Ability to manage workload independently across multiple sites
